OPEN INVITATION TO ALL LOCAL MIND CHARITIES

100 Local MIND charities across the UK.

Over the last 7 years, Untangled Threads have donated several thousands of pounds to National MIND and to MIND shops, on the naïve assumption that some of this would 'trickle down' to a local level, but it seems, as you may know too well already, that this is NOT the case. I want the efforts of Untangled Threads and all of our supporters to be targeted to the frontline in a battle for mental health resources in our communities.

'The Butterfly Effect' has been designated as a 'SPECIAL FEATURE' at this year's Knit & Stitch in Harrogate. The installation highlights the power of community craft in shaping a more sustainable future.

​

A comprehensive workbook, created by Helen Birmingham, will be sent FREE to all participating Local MIND charities across the UK. This will include step-by-step illustrated stitching projects and techniques, together with QR codes linking to free online video tutorials for use with individuals or groups as part of a programme of Mindful activities.

 

We have several hundred contributors and supporters across the UK who have helped make this installation possible. Together, we have already raised over £4,000 from this project, and our hope is that we will go on to raise thousands more in November. Stand C254 has very generously been donated to us by the show's organisers, Immediate Live. 

 

As well as the free workbook, every participating LOCAL MIND Charity will receive an equal share of all financial donations and handcrafted items related to this installation.   These can be used at your own discretion.
