Artists use sketchbooks in many different ways: to build confidence in drawing, as a journal, a record of work in progress or a place to store samples. Nowadays, textile artists' sketchbooks tend to become works of art in themselves.
This workshop covers:

Why use a sketchbook?

An investigation into other artists' use of sketchbooks, looking at different examples and reasons for keeping a sketchbook.

How best to observe, record and store your ideas

What exactly IS a sketchbook?

Myth-busting. You dont have to be 'good at drawing' to keep a sketchbook!

How to start your own sketchbook.
This workshop invovles a lot of talking, discussion and sharing, but will also include some practical work - particularly the use of Gesso! The sketchbooks' friend!
Maximum of 6 participants per workshop.
Cost: £25 includes all materials and tuition,
PLUS refreshments, all tuition notes, equipment and design resources
